If you need to believe
If you need to believe
Rev. Paul Abernathy, one of the original members of the Lambda Sigma Chi unofficial fraternity, sent me a poem he is working into a song. He has a way with words, and also music. I can’t wait to hear it.
If you need to believe
If you need to believe in someone,
I would love for you to believe in me.
I can provide for your life on earth,
and then give you peace eternally.
If you need to believe in someone,
I would love to help you to see
the grace my Father easily gives
can only be found through one-me.
If you need to believe in someone,
Death will be a worldly price,
But I went to the cross on Calvary,
And I have paid for your sacrifice.
If you need to believe in someone,
I’ll deliver you from wrong to right.
Choices are to be made along the way.
It is written: I am way, the truth, the light.
If you need to believe in someone,
I knew you before you were born,
and there’s a reason to live now.
Don’t suffer a crown of thorns.
If you need to believe in someone,
I can say this isn’t just a story.
I can bring you to a better life
through my Father’s grace and glory.
If you need to believe in someone,
I would love for you to believe in me.
I can provide for your life of earth,
and then give you peace eternally.
