The Purdue Marching Band has been in every IPL 500 Festival Parade, and a youngster from the crowd gets the opportunity to hit the World’s largest drum, the signature instrument of the band during the 55th parade on May 26, 2012. There were14 bands that participated in this year’s parade. You can almost hear the music.
The tuba section of the Hampton High School Marching Band from Allison Park, PA., brings the bass to the band.
The rows are seen from all angles in the Desoto Central High School from Southhaven, MS., 476 miles or 7 hours and 20 minutes away from home. They were the band that traveled the farthest to play in the parade.
The Graham High School Marching Band from St. Paris, OH, has as its description as a dancing band, and the players performed at the IPL 500 Festival Parade on May 26, 2012.

Part of the estimated 300,00 people who attended the IPL 500 Festival Parade on May 26, 2012, watch the flags in unison from the Lewis Cass Kings Band and Guard from Walton, TN, 7-time state champs and 9-time runner-ups in that state.
The drum major of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from Casper, WY, kept a straight face as the band went along the parade route.
