IPL 500 Festival Parade-The Floats

The 55th IPL 500 Festival Parade featured 13 floats, and the Queen’s Award for most effective use of color harmony, went to IPL’s Start a Revolution. Most of the floats in the parade were made by Indianapolis-based ExpoDesign, one of the handful of parade float companies in the country. Designing the the creations started last years and the building of the floats started months ago.
Ely Lilly & Co. sponsored the New Revolution in Education float.
The 500 Festival Queen and Purdue student Taylor Adams and her court of 32 Princesses,
on a float sponsored by WTHR-TV Channel 13, wave to the crowd.
A picture is taken of Sexton Companies’ float, The Three Little Pigs, which one the Chairman’s Award for best display of humor.
An Indy-type race car replica pulls the Sweepstakes Winner float from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield titled, “Jump Start a Health Revolution.” All floats were pulled by similar cars.
