IPL 500 Festival Parade-The Balloons
(Photos by Mike Hall)
The annual 500 Festival Parade uses many of its volunteers to handle the several balloons in the event, and on May 26, 2012 the stars of the parade were Miss Piggy, and the Cat in the Hat, above, and Dennis the Menace sponsored by Dairy Queen and Papa Smurf below. Special units in the parade were a replica race car, a race care driver and a big American Flag. Also in the parade were a series of four stars, and car driver helmets that helped introduce the drivers of the 33 rows of cars that qualified for the Indy 500 race.
