Portrait of Love-Four
(Courtesy photo)
May is a time when more than wildflowers bloom and more animals are seen emerging from the cold winter months. May is is time when love grows and fuels summer marriages. This is the fourth of a series of images from a clip art disc that symbolize personal portraits of a young love blooming in the spring.

Just Grin
You can’t judge a book by its cover, nor can
you measure a man by the color of his skin.
What really matters is what in the person’s
soul and on the pages of the past within.
People make their own choice whether to
be a child of God or be lost in sin,
and it’s up to each one of us to help
our children learn where to begin.
So next time there is some violent act,
and a certain group claims that win,
the difference in space between
love and hate becomes real thin.
When someone does something to you
that you think is bad, just grin.
The chances of that person saying or
doing it is probably one of your kin.

This road is never the same
This road is never the same.
It changes with the weather
and the light.
When it snows, the road turns
to ice and the fog surrounds
my car at night.
This road never stays the same.
Even when the road is clear,
Keep an eye peeled for the
deer.
These woods are their home
and frequently run across the
road.
This road is never the same.
The number of cars change the
pattern, too.
Defensive driving is the rule for surviving.
The fast pass the slow because
they’re late, and only time tempts
their fate.
This road never stays the same.

Zen and the Art of Sleep Maintenance
I’m a firm believer in Zen and the art of the bed.
On most mornings, I relish the warmth of the covers,
And a soft pillow against my head.
It is recommended I get at least 8 hours sleep, a day,
An article from my doctor’s office said.
If I get up to early, my body’s weak and my eye’s, red.
Breakfast seems so far away, but still I need fed.
The call of nature relates to urges left unsaid.
When it cold outside, it’s real difficult to get out of bed.
I think I have enough material to explain this further,
And I’m sure, like all top sellers, it will get read.
