Open the window to the world
when you walk out the door.
Everyone has a chance to face their fears.
Don’t deny they exist; make that clear.
Actions taken now will change
you the rest of your years.
If you don’t make a move soon,
your dreams will stay on the floor
where they will be stepped on
until they just disappear.

White lies improvised in haste
Become black ones when they are
Hidden in the shadows with other
White lies. They are harder to erase
With words or feelings once
The truth is exposed for all to know.

My life can be summed in one coded
paragraph, it it makes me laugh
to see how things are today.
I am a real person, not just a number
with a purpose to my life.
Tell that to a computer, and it would
say, “That does not compute.”

The door has two sides-
hinged on a mind-made frame
moves us from reality
to fantasy, changes truth to
a lie, transforms the past to the
present, and the present
becomes the future.
The window may appear on the
door, but what we see is what
we want to see on the other side,
or is there really a window at all?
But there is a door, I know,
because it hit me in the
nose as someone walked
through the door. I got too close to
the window.

Never listen to a woman’s tears.
It’s a defense system they have
Honed throughout the years
When they feel they have
suffered some offense.
They can cry a river and flood
Their emotions over the landscape
So that its seems easy to see their side.
Then it’s time for the offender to hide,
Since, by then, the woman has won
The war, if not just the battle.

because if you do, you might as well just die.

I’ve got my boots and jeans on,
and my duffle bag is all packed.
I’ve made up my mind to leave,
and I’ve decided not to look back.
I say good bye respectfully with
a big smile and a tip of my hat.
I’ve got the music in my head,
and I brought my oId guitar.
If I work hard enough, I believe
someday, somehow I’ll be a star.
They say that road is long,
but I really don’t know how far.
I know it won’t be as simple
as the whole thing seems,
but I will go crazy If I don’t
chase the object of my dreams.
I know I’ll make it if I can keep
my hopes high and myself clean.

Canción de tierra
Somos todos los ciudadanos de la tierra,
no separado por país ni por el nacimiento.
Nuestra supervivencia depende de uno al otro,
Y yo soy, por el derecho, su hermano lejano.
Pero si somos del mismo doblez, por qué somos personas
Luchar que tan frío para el poder no es correcto.
El orgullo debe estar dentro de la vista del Señor.
¿Pero el hermano, por qué somos nosotros tan lejanos?
El mundo físico proporciona resistencia.
Deseo que pueda sentirme para siempre la brisa,
Pero las personas cortan bosques y árboles.
Las personas reciclan recursos para su consideración
antes que sean idos y son demasiado tarde.
A pesar de su ropa, el color o el nombre,
En los ojos, nosotros somos todo lo mismo.
Y si usted se siente que está solo que está
siempre bienvenido en mi casa.

Most people get it
because they earn it.
Comics complain about it.
Military units forms it.
People have to have it
before they can get it.
It is respect.

Don’t give in to the cowboy who doesn’t
carry a Bowie or a six-gun,
especially if he seems to be the lonely one.
There probably has a past that is deadly,
and is one son who, if he wanted to, could
easily get things done.
Don’t get in his way, even though he might
not have that much to say.
He is, in his mind, at peace today,
but there may be a violent past in his yesterday.
Still water in the river runs deep,
and there may be nights he doesn’t really sleep.
There may be secret he vowed to himself
to keep, and a reflex action will bring him to his feet.
If you see him walk around the town,
don’t be concerned much about his frown,
for there may be problems keeping him down
and the lines etched in his face are thorns in his crown.
So be just aware by the weight of your stare
when you look at this man with his back to
the corner of the room.
