Stars
The stars are witnesses above
As they look down upon our love.
They see our relationship
Grow more and more each day.
It seems like it was always this way.
There were times in my past,
When love didn’t last, and the
Stars weren’t bright enough to see.
Maybe they were always there,
But it really didn’t matter to me.
I was too busy living my life,
And I couldn’t see them until
You said you’d be my wife.

Etoiles
Etoiles
Les étoiles sont des témoins ci-dessus
Comme ils méprisent notre amour.
Ils voient notre relation

Trial of the Mind
Music enters my mind …
slowly,
mysteriously …
Memories appear against the background …
slowly,
mysteriously …
The music grows in relation to the past …
slowly,
mysteriously …Questions appear before me…
slowly,
mysteriously …
Then thoughts in my mind, disappear …
slowly,
mysteriously …

Silent Witness
Brother C.J. Chatham, III, usually writing about his love life, comes up with a different poem below, one he wrote after going to one of his school reunions and seeing familiar items.
Silent Witness
Blistered with various shades of red, green and yellow,
the worn fire hydrant by the side of the road by the school
remains as an unsuspecting monument, a silent
witness since the iron vessel was first cast by
Mueller in Chatta, Tenn. in 1956. The letters are
hard to read due to the various attempts to make
it look good, but it is old. It has seen changes in
the thousands of cars that have passed by, and
changes in the children who went to the school,
who are now sending their children to the school.
How many children have used it as a bench, I
don’t know, but it could tell a few good stories.
It has seen changes in the school, growing slowly
a new addition to the cafeteria is the latest thing.
One wonders if it even works with two of the three
caps removed from the side valves, but the 5 1/4
inch side, the big side is covered, and should work.

Card love poem
I can’t love you any more than I do.
You’re in my heart, my soul, my mind.
If I’d ever leave you, I’d be a fool
Since angels couldn’t be more kind.

Nunca he tenido tiempo de decir adiós

Nunca he tenido tiempo de decir adiós
Un accidente que de forma inesperada.
Nunca he tenido tiempo de decir adiós

The devil
The devil, he’s playing tricks on me.
It’s not my imagination running free.
There are things I can feel, taste, smell
Hear and see that aren’t part of reality.
I thought it was some dream, possibly,
But how in the world could all this be?
I know I’m not going nuts or crazy.
The devil, he’s playing tricks on me.
