Many things change when it starts to rain.
Life’s movements just aren’t the same.
The world becomes different when it’s wet.
Foundations shift when they should be set.

Many things change when it starts to rain.
Ankles, knees and joints forecast the pain
Birds frantically fly before the storm.
Then the dark clouds finish their form

.Many things change when it starts to rain
.Falling water cleans the streets, and drains.
Air becomes easier and better to breathe.
Many people spend this time in their sleep.

Many things change when it starts to rain.
The ground and all its plants stand to gain.
Dry pores of the earth’s skin expand and close.
Moisture is used in formulas God only knows.

Many things change when it starts to rain.
Water drops collide on the wings of a plane
Driving, especially at night, takes more time.
Tires spin crossing dotted yellow lines.

El verano en la Montaña es lluvioso y frío.
Los vientos del norte comienzan a soplar.
Las ardillas se olvidan de las bellotas que plantaron
Y empiezo a sentir los cambios, lo sé.
Tu amor mantiene el fuego de la cabaña
Eres la flor que empieza a crecer a través de la nieve y el frío.

Caveat emptor (buyer beware)

It’s free and easy.
Grab it while you can.
But there’s a trick in the mix.
Crouching low is a hidden cost.
Words make good impressions,
And a good picture helps, too.
But after money problems,
And possibly a broken heart,
There is an innocence lost.
Then you feel like a fool,
And you wonder what to do
To make it all just go away.

Without a Crown

Storms shutter the minds of men.
There may be changes this season.
To believe is tantamount to treason.
Those in control look for a reason
To force the flock to follow the old.
Souls are easily bought or sold, and
The bodies are put into the filling fold,
Imprisoned to think they are chosen
To work for those others in control.
Believers say walls will crumble down,
And a new savior will emerge, one
Who will lead without a crown.

Mi Compás

Algunas veces
no me siento seguro de mi mismo,
y es difícil de comprender.

Me pierdo en un mar de decisions
y voy a la deriva
sin ningún plan.

Tu eres mi centro, mi norte,
y el límite de mi sur también.
Y eres mi este y oeste.
Y el sol, contigo nace y muere también.

Frontage Road

You see me on the frontage road,
next to the expressway.
This road never begins, or never
ends. It just exists.
I see people moving on with
their lives as they exit to the
main routes on the freeway,
while I live my life moving
on along this frontage road.
I start, then I stop, and start
something new all over again.
The name for the road never
seems to change, even though
then it makes changes in me.
My road is everywhere, in
the north, south, east and west.
And none of them is best.
They are all the same.
Soon I’ll have enough power
to stay on the highway,
and compete for the lanes
with the rest of the traffic.

Quicksand 

Watch where you walk, young man.
With each step, look where your feet land.
Your eyes can be fooled to step in quicksand.
Someone may not be there to lend you a hand.
Options can be found if you can plan.
Then on both feet you’ll be able to stand

Poema de Amor Eterno

Tuve esperanzas cuando nos conocimos
pero no tenía idea de lo que pasaría,
ese día que por primera vez nos vimos.Cuando tarde acudí a nuestra cita,
pensé que estaba tentando nuestra fé.
y todo cambió ese día.

No sabía que decir al principio
pero miré hacia la bahía
y el agua se miraba maravillosa.

Las olas reflejaban la luz de la luna
lo recuerdo como si hubiera sido anoche.
Y sin embargo el tiempo ya pasó.

Después de todo este tiempo,
quiero que sepas, que aún necesito
mostrarte todo mi amor.

Tus recuerdos aparecen cuando rezo,
cuando a Dios le pido que permanezcas,
aún cuando los tiempos sean difíciles.

El lazo que hemos tejido es fuerte,
y no me canso de decirte
que te amaré eternamente.

 The News

Sitting on the hard floor
 letting the time pass by.
    Can’t seem to get myself up
   and I don’t know why. 
Wrong words can hurt as
 much as a thrown stone.
  Now you decided to leave
  and I am all alone.
 Watching the news on TV
  promising I won’t cry, 
It was a misunderstanding.
 You called it a lie.
  Haven’t changed my number.
 I can reach the phone. 
Miss our little child badly.
 We almost had a home.
  Sitting on the hard floor
  letting the time pass by.
Can’t seem to get myself up
 and I don’t know why.

Lonely Knight

To some,
it’s just a another picture on the wall,
but, to me, it’s not that at all.
It’s a picture of you and me on vacation
making sand castles on the beach
during a week-long tropical honeymoon.
Time, like the waves that wash on the shore,
have taken the grand sand towers away, and
you were not with me yesterday or today.
With the picture in my hand, your love for me
will always have a special place in my heart.
It’s hard to know you’ll never be back, and
I’ll miss the way you make that funny smile.
I found the princess imprisoned in the tower,
and tried my best to save you from the dragon,
but this knight could not fight your fate.
Maybe I was too late. I’ll never know for sure.
The frame is going into a box, and I’m moving,
again, since it’s hard to call this place home.
