World of Words readership increases
In June the average daily count of unique visitors was 1.39 million readers with a high of 1,801,683 unique daily visitors. The daily page view count has increased in June to an average of 3.13 million with a high of 3,938,532. We appreciate the growth of the readership, and the goal of an average daily count of unique visitors of 2.5 million viewers by the end of the year is certainly a realistic goal. These numbers are great and we hope the trend continues throughout the summer months. If you have any comments to make, please go to contact@eliastobias.net.
More ArtBrushed photos added
Through the magic of technology and computers, The World of Words by Elias Tobias had added more photos to a portfolio of ArtBrushed images that originated as digital photographs by Mike Hall. Taken during the last 10 years, a select group of photos have been altered to look as if they were hand-painted or “ArtBrushed.” The ArtBrushed images can be seen as link on a static page on the blog, along with other viewing options on the right side of the page, or just click on the thumbnail image of the photo above.
Once on the page, the thumbnail images, with titles, can be easily enlarged by clicking on the image desired. A much larger original image will appear showing the detail of the ArtBrushed technique. The entire image can be easily saved by right clicking on the photo as saved using the “save as” choice and the photo can be named for deposit on a hard drive or other personal storage device.
Lost and found in Texas
The Boys of Lambda Sigma Chi have accepted a new member, Karl Dobson, who was nominated by his friend, Brother Adrian Parker. Karl started out as a journalist, and after graduation from BSU in 1979, went from small town papers to being a medical reporter for 10 years. He was so into helping people that he decided to become a healer, first as a nurse and now as a physician’s assistant, the closest thing be actually being an M.D. I suspect the lower pay in journalism may have contributed as a motive to a second career. The moves to Karl’s current position lead him on a journey to several towns and cities in several states, and Adrian lost contact. Through the World of Words by Elias Tobias, and a popular social network on the Internet, they found each other with Karl landing in Texas. He is working in Austin making the big bucks. Karl presented a portfolio of poetry, forwarded by Adrian, and now the Sigma Chi’s are eight. The boys welcome their new member.

Summer Days is the theme for month
The theme for August 2009 is summer days. Each week this month will feature at least four poems per week: a Spanish poem, unpublished poems, and a previously published poem, linked to the publishing credits. The publishing credits history page has been updated so that poems already on the web blog are now easily accessible, and as the older published poems appear, links to these poems will be set to the poems listed in the publishing credits.
