Free to love again
Free to love again
I was going down the road
Feeling all alone
Wondering what life
Had in store for me.
I was driving in the rain,
With cars changing lanes
And it was raining hard
I could hardly see.
Then I made a right turn, and
I saw her standing there,
Smoke coming from her car.
Water drenching her hair.
Others passed her by; they
Didn’t have time to care.
But I had a funny feeling
We would make a good pair.
Time to back up the truck.
Today I might be in luck.
Fate has smiled on me.
The girl of my dreams
Has come into my life.
That’s the way things ought to be.
I’ll be free to love again.
Time to back up the truck.
Today I might be in luck.
Sunshine is coming her way.
Even in the pouring rain
There’s a drop of hope.
Good times are here to stay.
I’ll be free to love again.
