Childhood’s Friend
Childhood’s Friend

To children life everyday is a day at the carnival.
Childhood’s Friend
Children need to make their childhood last,
For the effects of time will greet them too fast.
They are fooled by the myths of growing old,
And advertisers profit with their products sold.
Adulthood promises answer to desires and dreams,
But they don’t see the problems that lie in between.
And when the moment comes that childhood ends,
They look back when they had their old friends.
They remember when they were together in school.
What songs were popular then are no longer cool.
Summers fly by too fast and their innocence is lost,
And seeing the world new everyday is one of the costs.
