The Truth about Outlaws
The Truth about Outlaws
Being an outlaw in the Wild West
some think was the best thing a person
could be. They were always free,
but they were always also on the run.
That wasn’t always fun, trying to get
away from their past not knowing when
their next step was the last.
Big names like Billy the Kid,
Butch Cassidy and Wild Bunch,
Jesse and Frank James all have become
romanticized institutions, and caught
or killed with the law’s best intentions.
There were outlaws who changed with
the times, and learned how to rob
safes from banks and fast-moving trains.
While doing this took skill, the outlaws’
popularity was confused with a sense of fame.
A few of the outlaws survived to tell
their tales and what were facts were booked.
These became the material for Hollywood
movies, that added their own look.
So what do you know is fake, and what’s real?
It depends on how you feel about the truth.
