Water Logged, versions 1 and 2
Water Logged, versions 1 and 2
The writing process of creating ideas changes as it works, and sometimes two poems evolve from one idea, with the difference being just one word or line.
Water logged, version 1
Your passion is as strong
a roaring river,
and your love flows from
deep within your heart.
When we hit the rapids,
we can’t be torn apart.
Then suddenly you stop,
and the river ends.
The water meets the ocean,
and you want to be friends.
I’ll stay safe in my boat,
and then probably drift away.
Perhaps the currents will
bring us together someday.
Water Logged, version 2
Your passion is as strong
a roaring river,
and your love flows from
deep within your heart.
When we hit the rapids,
we can’t be torn apart.
Then suddenly you stop,
and the river ends.
The water meets the ocean,
and you want to be friends.
I’ll stay safe in my boat,
where I know I’m wet, but safe.
Then I’ll cast my anchor,
and I’ll wait for your love.
