Tumbling Tumbleweeds
Tumbling Tumbleweeds
Sometimes being civilized is not what it is cracked-up to be, and you would rather be someplace else …
Tumbling Tumbleweeds
I’d rather stay being a cowboy
‘cause that’s the only thing I know to do.
Let me keep my horse, saddle and gun,
and I’ll live the way the West was won.
I’d die if I was to live in town,
and work as some old storekeeper.
People go by trains, not stagecoach,
and life gets even stranger.
Edison has lights with electricity, and
Bell has a device called a telephone.
Hotels have hot and cold running water,
and water closets have a commode.
I hear opera from a gramophone,
and the banker owns a model T.
Silent pictures show cowboys on screen.
Civilization is not cut out for me.
