Our Love Is Still the Same
Our Love Is Still the Same
The big front door of this old house
don’t squeak no more,
and the carpet has covered the ole tiles
we laid on the floor.
The house we built in the country
is now in the city.
Our lives are getting complicated
and we’re far too busy.
We have gone through all the phases,
making many changes,
Yet it it doesn’t seem different because
our love is still the same.
All of our seeds have been sown
and they’ve grown.
Though we have moved, it was a place
we still called home.
All our children each have a family
and children of their own.
We live a life only our grandparents
could have known.
We have gone through all the phases,
making many changes.
Yet it doesn’t seem different because
our love is still the same.
The world has changed before our eyes
especialy with technology.
We have learned to expect any surprise,
and demand cable TV.
Cars get a little faster, countries get closer,
and it’s all on the news.
God, family and patriotism are now not a
universal point of view.
We have gone through all the phases,
making many changes.
Yet it doesn’t seem different because
our love is still the same.
