With temperatures in Central Indiana reaching into the the low 70s briefly after days of subzero temperatures, faint signs of spring are beginning to emerge, such as these small buds in a ground plant in Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park.

Debilitado,
Respirando como si
Hubiera tenido un
Resfriado desde
Hace una semana.
Sé que tengo que
Terminar lo
Que empecé,
Pero obstáculos
Inesperados han
Aparecido sin
Previa aviso,
Haciendo mi tarea
Más difícil
De terminar.
Otras distracciones
Dividen mi tiempo
Y energía.
En esta carrera,
Pronto llegará
Mi segundo aire
Y la debilidad
Que ahora siento
Sé esfumará

Indianapolis, IN - Internationally-known poet Elias Tobias has set a goal of 2.5 million daily unique visitors by January 2010 on his web site, The World of Words by Elias Tobias. Already the web blog has reached 2.5 million daily page views and more than one million unique visitors a day.
“I am pleased that so many more people are coming to my blog, but with the help of those already checking out the web blog, more people can be exposed to my style of poetry and photography,” Tobias said.
He said the same items that work to make the web blog, at eliastobias.net, successful now, will continue, including a variety of poems on a monthly theme, the Spanish-language poems, photography and graphics, videos, and incentives to get the reader involved with the website itself. No media other than the Internet will be used to directly promote the blog.

What is on the other side of the hill?
You won’t know until you see.
There are many possibilities.
What is on the other side of the hill?
It could be full of sharp turns.
There could be lesson to be learned.
What is on the other side of the hill?
Be sure to turn on your lights.
Others need to see you at night.
What is on the other side of the hill?
There could be a steep grade down.
If you’re lost, you could be found.
What is on the other side of the hill?
The trail can edge as a cliff.
It’s a game to say, “What if?”

There is always an easier way.
Some will wait for the next day.

The spirit inside you needs relief.

El rocío de la mañana
El rocío se eleva lentamente del agua,
como un fantasma azul sin forma alguna.
Ninfas desnudas jugueteando en la centelleante
alberca observan la luna de la mañana
a través de la neblina. El excesivo ruido de las
bocinas del radio
de un coche señala la llegada de la civilización,
rompiendo una extraña quietud.
Los dias pasan, minuto a minuto,
pronto el sol se ocultará en el horizonte.
Se escuchan risas de niñas, pero son apagadas
por el ruido de los aviones que pasan y por las
bocinas de los autos atorados en las lineas de asfalto.
El azul se convierte en blanco a medida que
el día nos trae la luz y el rocío desaparece.
Un fotógrafo paisajista aparece porque el lago
es más hermoso cuando no hay nadie.
