A poem by Brother Karl Dobson
Each month I load my checkbook
with paper bombs directed at
predetermined targets which hit
with technical precision.
They are armed with varying
pounds of destruction which
make sense, according to the target.
Each month I fight this battle
quietly in the privacy of my
home on the cluttered desk.
It is an ironic battleground.
When I am successful, which
I have to be in reality,
I am not the winner, but a loser.
I run out of bombs, out of targets,
out of ammunition. I am vulnerable,
open to agents of the enemy.
I struggle to survive in this
war of paper, credit and debt.
