The Devil’s Shadow
As a kid, you walked in the devil’s shadow,
And a dark cloud was over your name.
Your family tried their best to help you out,
But grief fell down around you like rain.
As a man, you walked in the devil’s shadow,
And that dark cloud grew over your name.
You learned to master the six-gun well,
Your actions have caused many people pain.
You seem to enjoy living in the devil’s shadow,
And stealing and killing is just a game.
Those who live by the sword will die by it.
When you die, you have yourself to blame.
I was once like you, following the devil’s shadow,
Drinking and taking the Lord’s name in vain.
But now I’ve changed and found an inner peace.
I live my life now without the Mark of Cain.
