Here is the sixth of six poems by Seema to be published to the World of Words by Elias Tobias.

If you are not God

With a perishable faith
I was guided towards you for love
where I come to you like a blank paper
where desire wants to see success
and not a darkness of uncertainty
but after a long journey of
my aesthetic sense of soul
where all the theories and notions are failed
in front of visual imaginations
I find a new visionary status
that there’s an illusion of faith..
which is  the reason of my perplexity
i need to know the existence of love
But , the condition is “if you are not God”
not to be the God is only my reliable source
it may be humane  or something else but not God
which can lead to the glory of  my heart not God
and if you are not God
I am ready to  follow you whatever you say
this is heart to heart not heart to unknown
where my origin is a reflecting mirror
and the hidden combination of soul and body,
with a large canvas of aspirations

Here is the fifth of six poems by Seema to be published to the World of Words by Elias Tobias.

Share of my heart

Beyond the eternity of time,
someone unknown never met
I have discovered you from the
hidden treasure miles and miles away
beyond thinking and imaginations
I feel the fragrance of your entity
in my heart soul an body
where I find privilege to
feel you as share of my heart……..
always in my heart in every beat of it
between cold wind of lonely nights
i feel myself on rainbow and clouds
with flickering stars in my palm
moonlight showering around and
fantasy of this cumbersome view
provides me the chorus of your words
I take a moment to listen to you …..
and in respond I whisper in horizon
All the good wish from my heart
to my Share of heart…
to my share of heart…..

Here is the second of six poems by Seema to be published to the World of Words by Elias Tobias.

For A Moment’s Bliss

The moment I met you
Looking at a glance at you
I found laughter in my eyes
With all rhapsody, going shy
Hope glittering in my soul
Kindering emotions to hug and roll
Thoughts are turning into jewels
Where luster of your aura dwells
Expressions getting diamond strings
Finding you as the chime of cool winds
Desires flowing graciously
Within frozen moments spaciously
Your sight giving warm embrace
With all love lexicon grace
Your presence ignited ember in air
Unsaid words are meek, echoes there
I see a majestic world around
Your shimmering portrait I found
That is what I always wished
“For a Moment’s Bliss”

Here is the first of six poems by Seema to be published to the World of Words by Elias Tobias.

Desert woman

She is born with the
silent language of desert and winds
engraved in her soul and
every night staring towards the sky
fighting with her own guesses
which she made to catch the star
her beloved was following
to reach his destination
she sends her whispers
along with tender kisses
placing on the wings of wind
believing the wind would surely
travel far and far away
to transfer her kisses
with her passionate message of
longingness to her beloved
she lives in fire of
endless waiting moments
with flood of storms in her eyes
and suffers moments of blazing coals
as horrible pain
with a desperate desire to
rest in his strong arms forever
she tries to gather dews of her
evaporating deep breaths
and create imaginary of being
beside him peeping in his eyes
she never know
her wait would end or not
But she know one thing
she is a desert woman
and with flux of stone body
she would be waiting till her last breath….

Youth Writing Project

Youth Writing Project

youth-writing-project.jpg

Youth Writing Project

Most of the writers and poets today who do this for a living or an active hobby began writing in their youth, especially in their early teen years. I have talked with many people who said they have written a poem once or twice when they were in school, perhaps for an assignment for a class, but stopped.

This Youth Writing Project, sponsored by the World of Words by Elias Tobias, encourages the young people who have ideas put into words.  This popular poetry blog will publish poems from this project in three age categories, ages 10-13,or Lightning Bugs; 14-16, or Butterflies, and 17-18, or Dragonflies.  There are no monetary prizes, however, novice writers will have the opportunity for their work seen by thousands of people, free.  If requested, only the first names and initials will be used in published identifications for privacy and security. The age is required.

All contributions for the project will be published under the  Free Open Poetry Forum  by the World of Words by Elias and contributions can be sent to contact@eliastobias.net.   All material appearing first on The World of Words by Elias Tobias would be part of the collective copyright of this blog, however any further publication rights beyond the first compilation rights would belong to the original authors. Submissions will be checked for originality.  All published material from contributing authors would be subject to editing by The World of Words by Elias Tobias.  For more information about how and what to submit to the Free Open Poetry Forum, click here.

Schools and teachers are encouraged to find ways to promote their students, and this is one option to make someone famous.  Parents, get permission to send your children’s work first.  All support for the Youth Writing Project will be appreciated.

We Thicken into Middle Age

We Thicken into Middle Age

poetry-forumlogo.jpg

By James Zaferopolos

I am a 65 year old man who has been writing since I was a teen, but never had the courage to attempt publishing anything, an inspiration in my dotage to throw such caution to the wind and move ahead. Maybe, having undergone two transplants (stem cell and kidney) and being forcibly retired, I feel the clock ticking, or, perhaps I feel that I have nothing to lose. I’d rather believe my stuff is worthy of an audience in its own right. At any rate, here we go. As a silly introduction, I send you the following, that fairly well captures how I feel at this stage of my life.

We Thicken into Middle Age

We thicken
Into middle age,
And it becomes,
Regrettably, the guts,
And not the noble parts,
That rage.

The sins of youth
Consume the soul,
While those
Of middle age
Merely convulse
The stomach, whole.

And what, only,
In youth,
The pen may quell,
Yields,
In our middle years,
To Pepto Bismo
Much too well.

Free Open Poetry Forum expands

Free Open Poetry Forum expands

poetry-forumlogo.jpg

For 2012, I would like to take a small detour in the direction of The World of Words by Elias Tobias and significantly expand the reader contributions, as it has been suggested by comments about the blog.  In March of 2007, I began the Free Open Poetry Forum the encourage people to submit poems for others to read.  While the Forum is still around, it has not been used as much as anticipated.
I imagine the forum being a virtual coffeehouse where ideas could be exchanged for the benefit of the readers of the poetry blog. I would like to keep this concept and expand it to beyond poetry to other types of submissions, such as regular guest writers with columns.  All material appearing first on The World of Words by Elias Tobias would be part of the collective copyright of this blog, however any further publication rights beyond the first compilation rights would belong to the original authors.  All published material from contributing authors would be subject to editing by The World of Words by Elias Tobias.

So get your cup of coffee and look a few rules, first. The  Free Open Poetry Forum on the World of Words  by Elias Tobias can include material on most any subject  related  to poetry using any form or style (or lack thereof), in English, and must be original material by the author making the submission. There is no financial benefit for approved submissions.
Length can vary depending of the work, but poems should be no more than 30 or 35 lines. All material can be emailed to contact@eliastobias.net and the material will be reviewed by the webmaster. Type “Free Poetry Forum Submission” in the subject line, as I we receive many other email messages. Sharp, clear photos of the authors may accompany a poem with a brief background of the author.  Also you should send a few poems at a time and work should be your best work.

All material for the Free Open Poetry Forum will be linked to the category with that name on the right side of the page so people can find their work easier, and those who have multiple regular submission such as columns may have their own category.  Of course, all material in this site can be found by the internal search box, also on the right side of the page.
Like most public Web sites, such as those connected with universities, poetry will not be accepted if it is:
1.    Racist or discriminatory to any race, ethnicity or country of origin.
2.    Sexually explicit or pornographic.
3.    Extremely violent in nature or it displays excessive use of profanity.
4.    Terroristic in nature or supportive of terrorist activity.

After an article or poem is posted, the author retains further publishing rights, and only first publishing rights are claimed by this Web site since the entire contents are copyrighted by the Webmaster. Whether the comments are positive or negative, it is the hope the open poetry forum serves as a base for comments are fair and constructive so people can become better writers. Best of all it’s free and other writers can benefit from the exposure of being in the one of the top 1.2 million web sites in the world.   So get your ideas and pens ready for the Free Open Poetry Forum on The World of Words by Elias Tobias.

The Sneaky Stapleopegus

The Sneaky Stapleopegus

poetry-forumlogo.jpg

Written by Mike Hubbert
I am posting this after The Renegade Paper Clip
dated August 15,2009

The Sneaky Stapleopegus

In the shadows of my office
by the pads and pencils lay
the Sneaky Stapleopegus
just passing time away
each ruler and eraser
and lonely paper clip
know too well the pain
inflicted by his mouthy grip..

The papers in their stacks so neat
make sure they stay away
but if there’s only one of you
I think that you’re ok..
he goes for pages two and three
but loves it when there’s more
the Sneaky Stapleopegus
one day ate twenty-four!

Thanks for the poem. Other readers are encouraged to send their poems to be published free in the World of Words Open Poetry Forum.   Poems submitted in Spanish with English translations are needed, too. Just send the poem to contact@eliastobias.net.

A Journey To The Heart

A Journey To The Heart

 poetry-forumlogo.jpg

Written by Mike Hubbert
aka The Poetry Man

A Journey To The Heart

It’s hard for me to write love lines
that grab you from the start
that takes you on a journey
to a place they call the heart
For me the choice of words comes slow
as I take pen in hand
to capture what I want to say
in words you’ll understand
My thoughts, my hopes, my dreams
and prayers, are riding on each line
and If I’ve done my job tonight
each verse will flow like wine
To you my Love, I give this poem
with sadness, I depart
with hopes this journey took you
to a place they call the heart
