Sun Chaser, Reflection

Sun Chaser, Reflection

Sometimes I write a poem, and then soon after, write a reaction to that poem. Here is sample of this situation.

Sun Chaser

We both love each other
because we both said so,
but I can tell by the look
in your eyes, I must go.
I see your dreams of
our love lasting forever,
but I never promised you that.
I have plans for myself, and
I must hurry to catch them
in the early morning sun.

Reflection

I once read a poem about a
guy who tried to catch the sun
because the girl he knew
was not the right on.

The situation was sad,
and it reminded me of
an experience I once had.

Her love was real, but there
wasn’t enough of the
stuff for me to see or feel.
