How were we in love?

My mind keeps playing tricks on me.
My thinking isn’t as good as it used to be.
It’s not just because I may be getting old.
The memories of you have gone cold.

The feeling of us in love has past me by,
and I wish I could remember why.
Since you’ve been gone, things aren’t the same.
I don’t know, but maybe I’m to blame.

Please tell me, how were we in love?
Did we laugh and have a good time?
Did we hold eachother’s hand and kiss?
When we were together, were we fine?
Please tell me, how were we in love?
