Weighted Words

When there is a wrenching pain
which haunts you every minute
of every hour of every day,
every letter spoken is an ounce,
every word a pound, and
every paragraph a ton.
Words are wasted in the heat
of arguments, but the words
which weigh the most are
the words that are never said.
