Room in My Heart

Editor’s Note:  Creativity often overlaps ideas, and some people may seem  to think that this poem is similar to the “A Room In My Heart” lyric sung by Faith Hill, however the story lines are different enough to make the two separate works.  In fact the poem below was written without every hearing or knowing of Hill’s recording. Only an Internet check showed the coincidence.

Room in My Heart

Now there’s room in my heart for you.
At a time, there was no door to go through.
It was just easier to keep everyone out of my life,
Since the end to my problems weren’t in sight.

I didn’t feel like talking or looking at anyone.
Living a daily life was a chore and not fun.
I saw you at the park smiling at me one day,
And then I began to feel a different way.

I didn’t know who you were at the time,
And now I’m proud you are a friend of mine.
You listened to everything that I had to say,
and my problems seemed to slip away.

We laughed, cried and talked into the night.
You made me feel everything was going right,
And helped me plan to undo what I’ve done.
Your patience let me to know you’re the one.

Now there’s lots of room in my heart for you.
Thanks to your love, my life has been renewed.
