 Price of Truth

A survey said a child tells his first lie at age 5.
I wonder where the truth will hide, when,
Later as a man, a stranger challenges his pride,
And justice in the eyes of the law is put aside.
People may get hurt or die as a cost, and
through generations, love and respect are lost.
The innocent may be convicted and punished,
While the guilty can remain free.
There is a price to be paid for the truth,
And it is charged to you and me.
