I Lied

I Lied

This is where I am and how I feel
After I had to grab a parachute and
Strap it on after the wing of the plane
Caught on fire and had to jump to
Save my life. I opened the chute
In time, but closed my eyes as I
Fell through the air. I lied.
I never was on a plane, nor did I
Have to jump into the air,
But I was on my way with plans
For the future and other people
Having new expectations for me,
But things changed just as quickly
As if I had to place the parachute
On my back to avoid disaster.
A bit dramatic I suppose, this lie,
But to me it’s the real truth since
The sudden change of fate.
This is where I am and how I feel
After I had to grab a parachute.
